Understanding by Design is a powerful, research-based framework for re-thinking the design, delivery and evaluation of standards-based instruction for the purpose of maximizing students’ understanding and their academic achievement. You will have an opportunity to explore the essential elements of this proven and highly effective framework. Academy topics include:

  • Backward Design Logic
  • Unwrapping State Standards
  • Big Ideas and Essential Questions
  • Continuum of Assessment
  • Effective and Engaging Learning Experiences

UbD training has revolutionized the way many educators around the state plan and deliver their classroom instruction. Leave this academy with advanced knowledge, skills and understanding related to UbD and UbD product for use in your professional setting. Prior experience with UbD is not a prerequisite for this training.
